How Bill Clinton Influenced Gay Rights

The decisions political leaders make today can influence a country for years afterward. For example, in 1993 Bill Clinton implemented the don't ask, don't tell policy for gays in the military and in 1996 the Federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was signed, which denies federal recognition of gay marriages.
