Sony Music Launches Gay Label, Music with a Twist

Saturday January 14, 2006
Matt Farber is on a gay crusade- pillaging through mass media, setting ablaze any homophobe that refuses to see the marketing potential of wide spread gay tv and music content.

First, he was the founding father of MTV's LOGO, now he's the brain behind Sony Music's new lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender label, Music with a Twist. Next thing you know, another "traditional" media source, such as the internet, will make glbt content accessible to million. Oh wait, that's already been done (About.com is a part of The New York Times Company, Gay Life is a part of About.com... get it?) I digress...

The Music with a Twist announcement coincides with the launch of Twist, a syndicated national radio show.

According to a Reuters report, "Music With a Twist's roster will feature gay artists who have mass appeal and hit potential across all musical genres. The label will collaborate with Sony Music's other U.S. labels and divisions, including Columbia Records Group, Epic Records, Sony Nashville and Sony Urban Music."
