The Gay Monsters

Step aside Dante's Cove, a new haunt is in town. Welcome to the ghostly gay hot spot: Twinkle Toad Town—the heart of the underworld's gay district where the characters of The Gay Monsters, the cast of a free webcomic by Andy Bauer, call home.

Andy Bauer says his colorfully flamboyant webcomic is "pure camp about charming gay monsters and their contemporary queer situation." I couldn't agree more. Meet some of the characters:

• Xander, the heartbroken dreamer, is in love with a living man who he can't wait to cross over.
• Wylie, Xander's best friend is happily unattached and sexually "outgoing".
• The faithful Manny is quite insecure, and who can blame him with a boyfriend like Francis.
• Francis, Manny's green boy toy, is flamboyant, loud and quite selfish.
• Mona is an activist and the haunting gay crew's female sidekick.
• Presley is a karaoke host or "scary-oke" you could say. He's always drunk and a horrible singer.

Andy Bauer has put together a creative and entertaining afterworld drama that is great for more than just Halloween. He proves the one thing we all suspected: Even after death, the gay drama never ends! I'm pretty sure, as Andy says, you'll just die laughing.
