Great news for gay couples in Connecticut looking to jump the broom. With 4 to 3 Supreme Court decision, Connecticut becomes the third state to legalize same-sex marriage, behind Massachusetts and California. The Connecticut Supreme court overturned the state's previous ban on gay marriage. Civil unions were already legal in Connecticut but lacked the full legal benefits of marriage."The state has failed to provide sufficient justification for excluding same sex couples from the institution of marriage," the court's opinion stated.
