A report out of Gayapolis, sourced from the Des Moines Register, says National Organization for Marriage (NOM), an anti-gay marriage group, has outspent both Iowa State House candidates on television ads during the state's House race—$86,080, compared to $42,882 for Democratic candidate Curt Hanson and $63,101 for GOPer Stephen Burgmeier.
And, how did NOM spend their ad money? Spots in support of Stephen Burgmeier. Talk about double dipping! I need to look into it this further, but Burgmeier opposes the unions of you and me.
Of further note: NOM isn't even an Iowa-based organization. They hail from New Jersey.
This is an interesting story to follow because now I'm curious about where NOM gets its money. Thanks, Gayapolis!
