Sunday Sweet Tooth: March For Equality, Gay Bar History, College Cash
Sunday September 20, 2009
Equality March In Washington: Join me and thousands of others in a demonstration for national equality on October 10 - 11 at the National Equality March in Washington, D.C. The rally is organized by Equality Across America. The message: "Equal protection in all matters governed by civil law in all 50 states." Join in this call for action. Also, check out Why I Will March on October 11th by activist/blogger Don Davis.
History of Gay Bars: A regular blog post may have a shelf life of a few days if you're lucky, but the posts live on forever. From the vaults of cybervoids is this gem for gay history buffs. Jump past the Soprano's clip (the site hasn't been updated since '07) and volumes of history about gay bars in New York City are revealed. You'll never go out the same.
Cash for College: Books before boys is what my grandma always said. Planning on going to school or continuing with your education? Keep your coin jar cash for books and help ease tuition costs with these LGBT-specific scholarships, loans and financial aid packages.
