On Monday, the Mexico City assembly approved a measure legalizing same-sex marriage. The city's definition of marriage is now gender neural. The new language reads "the free uniting of two people" adjusted from the previous "one man and one woman."
Civil unions have been legal in Mexico City since 2006, but equal marriage gives gay and lesbian couples the additional rights to adopt, apply for bank loans, inherit wealth and all other rights given to legally married spouses... More at GayAgenda.com
