Monday, lesbian couple Helena Paixao, 40, and Teresa Pires, 33, exchanged vows in Lisbon, a week after legalized same-sex marriages were allowed in Portugal.
The couple's been together for eight years and have two daughters from previous relationships. Paixao and Pires were also the first gay couple to submit a request to be married back in 2006, which sparked a fierce same-sex marriage debate in the country.
