Seems like sale prices aren't the only things hitting Target shelves nationwide. Backlash from gays customers and employees over CEO Gregg Steinhafel's $150,000 to an anti-gay politician has the company overstocked in a pr nightmare.

Target, known for its generous school and food programs and support for the annual Twin Cities Gay Pride Festival, gave $150,000 to MN Forward, a group running TV ads for anti-gay Rep. Tom Emmer. The HuffPost reports that Emmer has also been linked to a Minnesota Christian punk-rock ministry that supports the killing of gays and lesbians.

OMG. Not only do their men’s fashion selection suck but so does their CEO. I’m never shopping there again!

I was planning on shopping at Target this weekend. That simply can’t happen now.

Not only did Target give $150,000, but their CEO also gave a personal donation of $10,000. So much for their “unwavering support” of the LGBT community. And let’s not gloss over the fact that Best Buy, which is also based in Minnesota, also donated $100,000 to the same organization. I will no longer be giving either store my money, which is a shame because they are my top two shopping destinations. People need to let Target and Best Buy that they are disgusted with their actions and saying that the donations are just business decisions won’t cut it. It is a slap in the face to the LGBT community and we should not stand for it!
