Beloit College has a good reputation when it comes to campus diversity. And now, the small Wisconsin liberal arts school takes inclusion a step further with a pilot program that offers gender neutral housing.

What is gender neutral housing?
Co-ed dorms allow male and female students to live in the same building on campus, but not in the same room. In gender neutral housing, students can request to share a room with any gender. The new "gender-blind" housing options was urged by campus LGBT group, The Alliance. Student Ian Hedges ('12) hopes the program will create "a comfortable space" for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students.
