If they're going to go, it might be with a bang, says one Harvard doctor. Dr. Harvey B. Simon, associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, warns that men over 50 already have weak kickers and sex will double their chances of a heart attack.
First, the AARP says older men are having more unprotected sex and now this. The news isn't great for mature gays not ready to let the lube dry.
Dr. Simon says his findings shouldn't spark sexless riots because the chances of a heart attack in sexually after men over 50 is only 2 in 1 million. Plus, he writes, "men seem to spend more energy thinking and talking about sex than on the act itself," anyway.
Should you abstain?
No way. Sex "with a familiar partner is safe—even good$mdash;for the heart," HuffPoster Catherine Pearson writes, especially since sex isn't as strenuous as most think.
