Gay Pride Oreos Are Stuffed With Controversy

In celebration of Pride Month, Kraft Foods has found itself in the middle of the gay marriage debate.

Kraft posted a picture of a fake six-layer Oreo cookie on its Facebook page with the tag line "Made with creme colors that do not exist."

The campaign has already been liked by over 200,000 and a staggering 30,000 have commented thus far.

But not all of the attention has been praise. Some sweets faithfuls have commented that they will boycott Kraft and Oreos for pushing an "agenda" instead of their product.

One person commented: "Well Oreo Lost my Money, they pissed me off long ago with their "Seasonal" Cookies During Christmas, Not even Holiday Cookies! Seasonal! and now they want to support a Radical Cause. No more Nabisco for me."

However, their protest was met with equal celebration for the daring move by the food giant.

"I know this may sound weird, but I was shocked at your support for gay pride. It honestly made me love Oreos that much more. Thank you Oreo, for caring," one person commented. "I'm totally for the gay pride Oreo, forget the double stuff...It's a hexastuff and it's rainbow colored...say whaaaaat????" said another.

What do you think? Should Kraft make it's attention-grabbing, and surely delicious, rainbow-stuffed Oreos?

Definitely nice move from Kraft. I can just say that Kraft US is much more active than Kraft Europe. Their Oreo´s are not even vegan.

We have had enough centuries of HATE/VIOLENCE MONGERING BIGOTRY. A small step by a major Corporation is a good and appreciated gesture. Even a mouth/body crammed anti-Gay official like my Governor (Christie of NJ) might appreciate these cookies…

As a Company that is spreading love every day and helping gays and lesbians find a long-term partner, we are very proud of Nabisco and the Oreo brand for taking a positive position. A rainbow colored Oreo would only put smiles on people’s faces and should not cause controversy! I know we could sell A LOT of Oreo’s in the rainbow format as we have been getting bombarded on our Facebook page post. Again, much love to you Nabisco and Oreo.

Well, you sure know that people are really in touch with their bigotry & hatred when a cookie upsets their delicate sensibilities?

Good for Kraft foods to support equality for all!

PS- I just read another article that was anti-marriage for same-sex couples (you know, the “it’ll be the end of humankind”, etc…lunacy).

Funny how no one ever seems to mention all of the countries that already support this with no detrimental effect? Ah well, I guess with these sorts of bigots, you don’t want to allow actual facts to muddy the water… ;)

I have always like Oreo cookies…to boycott them simply because they show support of discriminated people is like saying the black in the cookie represents the black people of America and so I will not buy them…how stupid can people be? Support Oreo people…buy more and enjoy with milk!
