Straight enough to be America's top television criminal, but too gay to play the womanizing Christian Grey?
OK, it's acting and the whole idea of an actor being too gay or straight for a part is as "ludicrous" as Bret Easton Ellis's claim that Bomer couldn't pull off the lead in the screen adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey.
Ellis has gotten exactly what he wanted, which is attention, for cyber-begging for a screenwriting job and then speculating as to who should play the lead. Bomer was on his short list until axed because, according to Bomer, he's too gay.
"Fifty Shades of Grey: the most popular book on the planet having Matt Bomer--a gay actor--play Christian Grey is absolutely ludicrous. Why?" Ellis tweeted.
Ellis didn't get the job, but his tweets could definitely help Bomer get an audition.
