More gay marriage news this week, this time out of New Zealand.

New Zealand lawmakers are expected to vote in favor of legalizing gay marriage. The vote today is the first of three that typically take place before a measure becomes law.

According to ABC News, two-thirds of New Zealanders are in favor of allowing gay and lesbians to marry. Same-sex couples are already afforded limited civil partnerships. The vote would ultimately give them the full rights of marriage.

Monday, French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault announced that France will legalize gay marriage by 2013.
