Apparently in Greece, the particulars of state spending isn't the only thing kept dark. Perez Hilton is giving state-run television channel NET a "totally lame" for censoring out the gay kiss in the premiere of Downton Abbey.
What gives? "Didn't you guys INVENT gay kissing?" Hilton blogs.
In prime time political opportunity, the increasingly popular liberal Syriza Party (also known as United Social Front) released a statement:
"As incredible as it may seem for a democratic country in the 21st century, officials of the NET television channel censored the scene of a kiss between men from the TV drama Downton Abbey.
This is of course an obvious case of censorship, an extreme act of homophobia and discrimination which unfortunately, after what has been happening recently, we cannot characterise as unprecedented."

Have Greece forgotten their ancient Empire, clearly the Greeks of that Empire were far more enlightened than these strange narrow minded individuals. How on earth are they going to cope with their history and their Art?…shame on them.
How totally hypocritical of the Net TV station in Greece to censor an action of love between two human beings. What do they think they are protecting us from? I’m not going to point out that these censors have not read their history books on ancient Greece where a once civilized society accepted homosexuality totally. Gays have been around since the beginning of time. It’s the MEDIA that has created the negative image of gays and apparently continues to do so. Grow up Greece!
