Rufus McGarrigle Wainwright, born in Rhinebeck, New York on July 22, 1973, is the son of folk singers Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle and the brother of Martha Wainwright. Rufus Wainwright has been called the "master of the contemporary torch song" for his "heartfelt expression and clever turns-of-phrase."
