Irish hurler, Dónal Óg Cusack, revealed he was gay to the Irish Daily Mail on October 18, 2009—prior to the release of his autobiography Come What May. Cusack revealed that he had slept with both men and women before realizing he was gay. Cusack also writes about difficulties coming out to his family, in particular his father, a crane driver.
"Whatever you may feel about me or who I am, I've always been at peace with it," the sporteman said.
Cusack, born born 16 March 1977 in Cloyne, County Cork, has been a member of the Cork senior inter-county team, Cork All Stars, since 1999.
