While famed sister Rosie O'Donnell chose entertainment as a career, Daniel went into politics. O'Donnell won a seat on the New York State Assembly (69th Assembly District in Manhattan) in 1993 after a failed 1998 run. O'Donnell's impressive political career includes support for the environment, education, and the passing the Sexual Orientation Non-Discrimination Act in New York.
