About Lance Bass:
Lance Bass, or James Lance Bass, was born on May 4, 1979 in Laurel, Mississippi. The former *NSYNC member founded his own music production company, Free Lance Entertainment Group and the film production company A Happy Place in 2000. Bass began his singing career in the Laurel, Mississippi Clinton Community Choir at age 11. A year later he became a member of the Mississippi Show Stoppers. Bass is also the godfather to former bandmate Joey Fatone's daughter.
Lance Bass and NSync:
Lance Bass was the fifth and final member of the pop sensation band, NSync. He was discovered by Justin Timerblake through his singing coach.
Lance Bass in Space:
In 2002, Lance was trained as a cosmonaut at Russia's Star City and was certified by both the Russian Space Program and NASA for a mission aboard a Soyuz capsule. He would have become the third space tourist in the Russian Space Mission, but failed to come up with the $20 million fee.
Lance Bass Comes Out:
Rumors of Lance's sexuality and his relationship with gay Amazing Race winner Reichen Lehmkuhl began after the New York Post reported that he and Lehmkuhl were seen at a gay bar called the Atlantic House in Provincetown, Mass. Soon after, Lance confirmed the rumors and came out in a People magazine exclusive.
Lance Bass In The Movies:
Lance has executive produced and starred in many film projects, including the 2001 feature film, On the Line alongside former *NSYNC bandmate Joey Fatone.

In his 2007 memoir, Out of Sync ( Simon Spotlight Entertainment), Lance talks about his childhood, astronaut training, and hiding his sexuality to protect the fame of his boyband.
