About Nate Berkus: Nate Berkus was born in Southern California in 1971, but grew up in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from Lake Forest College (Illinois) in 1994. From a young age, Nate Berkus has had a passion for interior design and decorating.
Nate Berkus and Nate Berkus Associates: After extensive auction house experience at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers and Dominique Aurientis in Paris, France, Nate Berkus went on to form Nate Berkus Associates in 1995 at the age of 24.
Nate Berkus and the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami: Nate Berkus tragically lost his partner, photographer Fernando Bengoechea, in the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami while they both vacationed in Sri Lanka.
