Finding A Boyfriend Takes TIme

By Ramon Johnson, About.com

Us gays tend to inhabit a warped sense of time. When it comes to getting cozy with another guy, we want it when we want it, which usually means right now!

And, it's not unusual for us to want boyfriends before we've truly figured out what we actually desire in a man. Finding the first guy that's willing to hold your... hand can easily result in clumsy drama. Building a stronger romance takes time and patience.

Figure out what qualities you like in a guy, what your boundaries are (both inside and outside of bedroom), and who you are as a person.

Don't be quick to rush and "marry" the first man that comes along. There will be plenty of chances for you to "get it right" and sometimes get it wrong. Keep it light, take all of the time you need and explore with the mission of getting to know yourself (and him) better. The right guys will gravitate towards your sense of independence and patience.
