Can Gay Wiccans Find Love?

Dear Mona,

I'm a 19-year-old gay guy. I have four ex-boyfriends and in over a year I haven't had a single date, kiss, or anything from a guy. When I do find a guy interested in me, he always disappears. I'm very strong willed and have a plan in life. Also, my religion is Wiccan Witchcraft. Is it something I'm doing that makes the guys go away, or does magic take them away?

By your practices you know how to harness and redirect the energies of the Universe; yet, young grasshopper, manipulating the electricity of love continues to elude you.

Heed my non-Wiccan, Wiccan lesson:

Regrettably, in a world saturated with energy-blocking love fears, it's more likely, perhaps, that your togetherness, shall we say, makes the boys flee faster than your Wiccan nature. To many boys, and to the mystery of even Mona's otherworldly receptors, a gay man that "has it all together" can be a threat. Perhaps some of the boys you've attracted are intimidated by your actualization; perhaps some are envious; even yet, some may not be prepared for the affirming energy you can offer a good relationship.

Does this mean you should lower your standards? Not at all! Read on...

I urge you to reference one of my gay fave Wiccan reruns, Charmed. If you notice, the sexy Charmed Ones' relationship disasters had little to do with their ability to destroy a demon with the flick of a wrist, but their shenanigans trying to hide the fact that they practiced the craft. Initially, they refused to believe that their lives in Wicca could coincide with a secular love life. It was no less a mystical moment when they outed themselves as who they truly were and refused to believe that magic and love were mutually exclusive.

Lil' Wicci: It's not the quantity of men in your past or the number of hours, months and days you've gone without some action that defines your love worthiness; it's knowing (and believing) in yourself enough to know that the right guy will find all of you (your practices and your togetherness) irresistible.

Focus on your craft and surround yourself with others that are either fans of Witchcraft or Wiccans themselves. I bet my gay runes there is another young Wiccan like yourself waiting for love. Be patient. The right man will more than make up for lost time.
