3 Things Gay Men Should Never Be Without

By Ramon Johnson, About.com

You've grabbed your keys, wallet and cell phone and are headed out the door fast. But do you have the three essential items for gay safety?
  1. A Condom
There is never a wrong time to plan for safer gay sex. Keep a condom on you just in case. Condoms can expire fairly easily due to the heat and wear and tear inside your wallet. Replace it often with a fresh condom and use it if you're engaging in any planned or unplanned sexual activity.

  2. A Card
It's easier to put a phone number in your cell phone, but leave a lasting impression by giving someone your card. Business cards are fine, but personal info cards are more fun. You can create free custom cards at Max Cards or VistaPrint. Create your own personal tag line or nickname.

  3. An Address
It's not uncommon for gay men to arrange face to face meetings with other men online (see trick). Follow the steps to safe online dating and leave a trail. Meeting up with anyone you haven't known for some time can be risky. Leave their address and contact information at home and keep it on your person just in case.
