The Down Low

Since the beginning of time many self-proclaimed straight guys have fooled around with other men unbeknownst to their wives or girlfriends. This phenomenon in the African-American community has recently been tagged the "Down Low" or "DL." The DL was brought to the spotlight by the high rate of HIV cases affecting both men and straight women. Black women want African-American men to fess up to their homosexual ventures (especially if it's unsafe). However, others feel that "If a girl can't keep her man, then [she should] let him go..."
