Clay Aiken: Gay, Straight or Nobody's Business?
Thursday September 21, 2006

Update (9/24/08): Clay Aiken Comes Out
In an emotionally charged interview with Diane Sawyer, American Idol runner-up and recording artist Clay Aiken skated around the issue of his sexuality. "What I do in my private life is nobody's business anymore," Aiken proclaims. Rumors about Clay Aiken's sexuality have been circulating, well, since his first appearance in the 2003 season of American Idol. But, could the rumors be true?
Former Army Ranger John Paulus broke his silence to the National Enquirer revealing an alleged affair with Aiken- whom he says approached him in a chat room. The ranger also said he not only had sex with the pop star, but saved the IM messages and a washrag... Sound familiar? But then again, who can believe anything printed in the national tabloid?
Aiken seems extremely annoyed with the rumors. He told Sawyer, "I don't understand why it's any of your business. I don't think you're rude because I figure, you know, people have a job to do." I'm not a huge Aiken fan for my own reasons (the music, the hair cuts, etc.) but I have to agree with him on this one. His sexuality is none of our business. Unfortunately for him celebrity gossip is always hot and celebrity gay rumors will always trump. It sells and the tabloids know that. I just hope Aiken's sponsors, label and fans will support him regardless of his sexuality. I also hope those that haven't made a determination about Aiken will do so based upon his talents and not his sexuality.

HI-FIVE,keep up the great work.I love gay life news,BUT I love to see more new on lesbians.
Clay has joined Ricky Martin and Kevin Spacey and many others in the “none of your business” camp. And everyone knows that “none of your business” really means “I’m a big ol’ homo!” Men who really are straight have no problem with saying “No, I’m not gay.”
I hope Clay is gay ’cause he’s so adorable. But if he were bi or straight that wouldn’t make him any less attractive. He is a public figure but there are things about themselves which should remain private.
For the record, I (nudegayguy) am a homosexual. Maybe that will substitute for Clay’s response.
I am so tired of labels. Who cares if he is gay or straight besides him. I am a heterosexual mother of two, one of which is bisexual. She decided to trust me and tell me herself. The only person who should decide if coming out is important enough to do is the person themselves. I think the stupid tabloid printers should be burned out of business. How many times have they been wrong about everything? Stupid bird cage liners are what they are. And that goes for that gay magazine “Out” or whatever it is called. Nobody has the right to make that decision for anyone else. SHAME ON THEM.
Whatever, it doesn’t matter and is no ones business. Why are you giving space to that scum army ranger, especially when he did go to a tabloid? This is a reward to him and those like him out for attention and their 15 minutes.
Clay had no problem with answering ” No, I’m not gay” many times since 2003. The fact that he HAS answered many times but is continually questioned again and again indicates that the ones that are asking don’t like his answer. Therefore he says, to hell with it. Who can blame him?
I read that the army guy confessed that the story he sold the tabloids was a hoax. http://stuckinidol.wordpress.com/2007/03/04/former-idol-cleared-in-internet-scandal-one-can-only-hope/#comment-59
This is a poll on a site for a bunch of gays. DUH!! Of course you’ll have skewed results. Not only is Clay straight. He is smarter than the gay idjits who spend their time worrying about his sexuality.
Not only it is nobody’s business but what is the point of doing a poll and asking people what they THINK is his sexuality? What peole THINK does not matter. His sexuality is what it is and HE says he is straight. That’s all anybody needs to know. This entire article and poll is unbelievably invasive.
What kind of a world have we created where we think we have the right to know everything about a persons PERSONAL LIFE??? If someone in the public eye chooses to reveal personal information about themselves, great, if they choose not to thats their business. Or at least it should be. The man stated several years ago he was straight, fine. If he decides to publicly state he is gay at some time in the future thats fine too. It’s his life, it should be his choice about how he lives it.
